Once you have completed this task move on to the steps below.
I believe that both X86 and 圆4 folders contain three drivers if your computer is configure to display files of all types. Besure that you extract these files to the USB Flash Drive.
Next extract the the compressed file using J-zip or some utility that is able to extract a ZIP file. I am in the process now of installing Windows 32-Bit on a CHFV motherboard, follow the process below:įirst from the Asus website download the AHCI/RAID drivers to USB Flash Drive formatted in NTFS. I hope someone here, where the best Asus techs on the planet moderate, and inform others of resolutions to problems has the answer, and steps up to help bring this problem to an end. I'm not the only one in these forums, and other forums asking these questions about the same problem. ROG board or not, in over 20 years of building machines, and no less than 15 of those running a raid config, all on Asus boards, seems to me that it's not my lack of knowledge about ROG boards, but lack of support, or information leading to the resolution of this problem. Surely some old heads in these forums (if they've solved the problem themselves) could help out first time ROG board users with a tutorial. We have an Intel raid tutorial, but not one for AMD. If anyone has information I missed while doing about 6 months of study in an effort to find a solution to this problem, please, enlighten me. So, I have to ask the question, is Asus selling these boards with the claim of having "Raid capability", knowing all the time there's a problem achieving it with the majority of today's SSD's? Do they know, but don't care that achieving raid because of lack of SB driver/configuration support, even on OS's they claim the board is optimized for? I've RMA'd one board because of the lack of ability to achieve raid with my two drives, and never got an argument one about it. Will I face the same problem of lack of support when it comes out?
8.1 "is" essentially a revamp of 8, so where are the drivers, and proper support for this board? I bought the 8.1-64bit that entitled me to a free upgrade to 10 when released. This leads me to wonder if Asus meant what they said on the box when they printed "Windows 8 Optimized", or not. What struck me right off the bat, it that there are no chipset drivers listed. I've also read that it's possible that some of the newer SSD's don't support the 950SB architecture, hence, dead end.īefore I loaded 8.1, I downloaded all the drivers on Asus' support page for the Crosshair V Formula-Z.
By that, I mean that older bios' for the board (note older bios, older SSD's?) seemed to have little problem with raid setups using SSD's.
I know (from my research) that there are certain SSD's that don't have issues with the Crosshair V 950SB, but it could also possibly be related to bios revisions. Investigated Trim, and everything else I could look at as a possible problem in achieving raid, but again, have come up short.
I've tried every driver I can, including a silent install of the SB drivers, Asmedia controller drivers prior to Win load, and still nothing. I can create the array, but Windows fails to recognize it's there.
I've tried two different OS's (7 Ultimate 64bit, and 8.1 64bit), every configuration suggestion in the bios that I can find, and am still stumped on how to get my two Crucial 128GB M550's set up in raid.
